Click on the words above. And see the the lives, loves and truths of New Orleans.
I have not been back to the NO or the Gulf Coast since the Cane so when I see that Spike Lee did a docu I did a full stop and sat down to see what the happs were. This shows the real deal. I gotta say that that this is even more devastating than watching it live and talking to my cousins and family down there. I think that they were being brave and still are about what happened and is happening there. These stories are just some off the most disturbed and truthful accounts of the lives and times during this event. 3 days with no water, 5 days in the human storm, people dying where they sat. Black, white and hispanic people watching each other die. The only choices were to walk out of town, forced at gunpoint to the this serious mess. This is our government people. The shame of America.
The war that Katrina is and was and in the words of our peers and seeing that, I am even more pissed off and sad. The Canadians bless their souls sent more help than the US Government did, hell even that supposed despot in Veneulaza (sp) sent help. What the hell does that say about us? One looter jackin food and getting all over the news or gettin jacked by FEMA while your told that eveything is everything and that'll it be okay. The world press savaged us and rightly so. This disgraceful.
The cops were looting, and the showed it on TV and no one peeped, was this race or negligence or just a we don't care moment. What the fuck happened, that shit is seriously fucked up - no joke people. Go there and see it I''l lead the a tour and volunteer mission and we can go and live it. This is life changing shit. So many things can make you a better man, person and once you see this you will want to be better.
