Desp. Housewives is some damn drama

who thinks this stuff up?

Faking daddy papers, hiding some person in the basement? Getting a job while your baby daddy is laying on the floor writhing in pain? Come on now people - this is television of course and well it it nonsensical, but what's next captain picard and counselor troy beaming down and assessing their well being.

Enough.

Riding

Good little ride, flatted at the end and walked home not far but far enough in "shoes" nice day fun.

whew

After like 10 days of travel I am home. I thought it was Wednesday all day today and now I know why people thought I was a freak all day. I missed a late appointment today as I thought it was, as I mentioned, Wednesday. Duh.

Back on the bike in the am, should be nice and cool for a two hour ride.

Justin, get a hold of me, I know the hurricane is coming are you coming up to the CO?

Brian Fay is coming home for a visit next week it is soo on.

It will be fun boozing him up, me I am gonna stay back from the booze, I wanna stay nice and trim for winter, no more putting on 15 in the winter and scrambling to take it off in the spring on the bike, next spring I am gonna be lighter earlier and serve some pain instead of eating poo sandwiches early season.

It is nice that the "fringe sports" within EMSC are producing champs maybe it will draw a little attention to the participants.

My heartfelt thanks to Hawkes for all that he has been able to pull off this year.

Frustration

After drive over the southern half of this state, I am frustrated, the distances are all wrong traffic sucks and people are semi rude. I just want to enjoy the sound of silence before going into properties where for most of the staff english is not even a second language. The Complete idiots guide to Spanish has proved with absolute certainty that yes indeed I am an idiot.

Whatever made me think that I would pick it up quick have been dashed against the rocks of South Mountain.

I gotta get some rest or I am going to scream at someone just to get this out of me. It may not be wise and feelings will be hurt if I can't get a minute to regroup and think this out, my local travel plan is a mess after getting way lost. I mean way lost Yeah the sun always sets in the west but sometimes you get turned around or think that you went far enough but your still in the wrong town 7 miles away and the appointment is now splitting cause you cannot follow directions, damn. DAMN DAMN. I need to go for a ride and just relax. Where the hell is MESA AZ anyway and why is it where it is, it should be right here right next to me like the map says. Damn map makers and city fathers put the damn town where it belongs. Not out over there. DONE.

The Fallout

I met a evacuee today in Tucson.

We talked for about an hour and I met his wife and mother in law in the hotel parking lot while holding the door for them.

This man is wiped out, buzzed out, and freaked out, I went for a beer at the hotel and he came in and sat down besides me and struck up a conversation, he told his tale and I bought him beers and we talked about Slidell and New Orleans and it made me incrediably sad to hear about his home and state and made me miss that area and my sadly infrequent visits to the area.

Wish him and all of those folks well, godspeed and some fun where ever they are and a wish for thme to get back to normalcy and for us to talk with them we you may randomly meet them I know he has PTSD as I have had and the talk was worth the cost.

Good night.

Sheppard is a doper.

24 hours of FUN

Check up on Colorado locals at the 24 hour Kona Worlds.

http://billyholmes.blogspot.com/

http://ridewithnickmartin.blogspot.com/

Funny stuff and reminds me of last year at the Moab event, why am I doing it again? Not sure but it has something to do with cycling and love.

Outs.

Oh man was dinner great

Agave in Tucson. Go there had the fish special, trout with a spinach and jalapeno stuffing with mushrooms and assorted other items it was soo good. I did my penance in the morning by spinning on the trainer for 45 minutes before leaving for the airport, now I am fat and happy. Such a good meal should be shared so the next time I am down here - well before I come down I am going to finf out what the dinner du jour is and then you guys have hours to make the flights and get yer back sides down here for the meal.

Best part: the meal and wine second best part winning 50 buks at the casino next to Agave and having that pay for dinner and 10 bucks towards gas. Now I am done. I have the mini sony cam withe me so be ready to see sunsets and sunrises as I am have a yet another fit of insomnia.

Later breeders.

Sick Ride

Went from Bold up and up and up with Hawkes and the kids today - wicked pissah ride - to much road riding for a MTB ride and of course fireroads but I dealt with it and it was fun left at 10:15 got back at 3:15 gnarly but fun, the tubless system is the shit, I said it before and it's true damn true. Great for Mtb's but it would death on a roadie.

So I am out to AZ for a week plans changed to Yuma and Tucson, sucks - it is still 100 degrees everyday and well I gotta walk from the car to the door and I'm not with that, I need a personal AC device - man I'd make a billion and crush my foes. Nah, everyone would get a bike, a single speed and we would have a cool SS gang. Fear the mauve train of death as it would be chasing our geared brethern down.

I have some spare wheels I am not using so if anyone needs some rebuilt a XT 717 (front) or 517's (fr/rr) with Old school DT 240's with the star removed so they are loud or a lonely 517 with a CK hub (bad ass purplish). Point and click at the Blackberry address and we'll make a deal. Hi Kai, Tristan, Bap, Marvalolo, DMR and thanks for the ride Mike V, Patten, Eagle, Mike,Brae and Missah Charlie Big Wheels and to that dude that went roosting up the hill past us - dude you live on the hill stop trying to be a show off, punk.

Oh by the by my back is cooked tingels and pins and needles. Damn when I go to UT the next week I am gonna stop at the cracker. Wish me some luck.

Let the blame begin

With all of the infighting and accusations being thrown around, how do we as citizens even figure out what the truth is?

The responses was slow. Was it on purpose? Was it a massive failure? Could the powers that not foresee the destruction? Was the equipment/supplies/resucers staged in the wrong places?

Are the poor to blame for not getting out sooner or at all? Is the system still fundamentally flawed? Who is going to fall next? Will this be the death knell for a state region and country? Will the next disaster of epic proportions be in California with the big one? Will this bring the US to it's knee's and humble our rampagimg hubris? What lesson is there to be learned and will we be able be open and willing enough to actually see it?

Tough thoughts on a Friday afternoon. But this could be the conversation you have with you boys, girls, family and friends over the weekend.

Madness

Okay so sitting and watching this incredible footage and now I am really starting to listen to the audio.

Seems that everyone is SHOCKED that there are people who are not prosperous, not even a little bit. The Gulf coast has mansions next to shanty towns next to golf course's, next to casino's.

The people are poor, the jobs are weak, the economy is still in the dumper and well they are almost overwhelmingly poor blacks and whites - the poor trash of society and when you see them struggling for their very survival it should not come as a shock, but there it is "a shocked nation" the nation reels" we are overwhelmed" there is no direct saying about the people, oh you might get a snippet here or there from some random person - now don't get me wrong - I am happily surprised by the outpouring from different states. Now let me ask this if this had happened in Vermont (highly unlikely) what would the response have been? Now I know there are poor folks there but not in these numbers there is something 500 K people in Vermont, there were 500K people in that area of Louisiana that are wiped out many for good. This is an undirected rant, and I am not even sure what I want to say, but I am overwhelmed now.

This is on the scale of an apocolypse in that area what happens when the worst that can happen to happens - all of the other petty shit in the world really goes by the wayside, who cares about oh my feelings are hurt, or I twiste my ankle or I dented my car - those things heal and can be fixed in days or weeks - this is a mess for a lifetime, from mind body and soul - so I am over the petty shit, my flight is late SO WHAT, I got a ticket SO WHAT, I have a home a life and people and friends that I care about - I may not see them much - but I love them and they love me and we have been together through thick and thin and we offer that love and care to our friends and family strangers that will be friends anyone and everyone all along the CG and in the NO.
