Travel

On the road in the AM can't wait to take some photo's for my friends.

Hope all is well and that your travels are safe and fun.

Oh Lynn O called and she was hot footing it across the Globe again to Europe for the next world cups with cracked boots, I tried to find some for her here, but both Bomber and Bola did not have the ultra stiffies from HEAD. Seems that they are not making that thing anymore. Dang - oh Lynn if you see this from Euroland those bindings from Heinel never made it today - damn just what I need another annoyed person on my case. No worries though it happens and your track record with FEDEX is not that great right now.

See ya.

Interview 2

Thedo Remmelink - from the Netherlands ((hot women)), flat and no pow and now in ((beasty women and steep hils )) Steamboat) - super fast and ready for anything that feels good!Thedo was Top 10 in the first Olys and has never looked back! He is half shaman half guru and all friend. He consented to answer some questions for you snow and dirt riders out there. He has been a cool influence on my super technical coaching and his thoughts have allowed me to see the feel of and for things, without out that I would be speaking gibberish to my riders and friends. Here is what he had to say.

Thedo,

CB - Hello my friend, I have some quick questions for you about snowboarding
and life in general.

Thanks and see you at Squaw Valley.

CB - When did you begin snowboarding and why?
TR - In 1987 I started snowboarding after seeing the movie Apocalypse Snow.
At that time I worked in Switzerland for the winter.

CB - Who Influenced you and how?
TR - Jose Fernandez from Switzerland because of his professionalism, being one of
the first pro's in snowboarding. Also Craig Kelly because of his smooth riding style and Peter Bauer with his dynamic riding ability.

CB - Other Sports?
TR - Motocross is the sport where I grew up with in Holland. I was riding all the
time and MX was my life. After 10 years of racing, I discovered snowboarding
in Switzerland and switched sports. I still ride.

CB - Any wrecks?
TR - Many, but not in Snowboarding

CB - Any Checks?
TR - If you mean pay checks...yes, I was fortunate to have to have very good
Sponsors who stayed loyal to me for a long time, O'Neill was the biggest one
besides Nitro and Braun. When I started coaching in 1998, I was hired by Slovenia with top rider Dejan Kosir.

CB -What are your strongest qualities as a racer?
Love for the sport, a professional attitude and very good feel for speed.

CB- What are your weakest qualities as a racer?
TR - Icy steeps where recoveries were necessary.

CB - What are your current and future goals in racing?
TR - Help to revitalize the sport of snowboard racing by having a training center
with top quality coaching.

CB - Goals in life?
Have my own ranch and experience happiness in relationships.

CB - Greatest achievements?
TR - 8 World Cup Victories SL, PSL, GS and SG, 10th at the Olympics in Nagano'98,
silver and bronze medals in the final World Cup rankings, Several national
champion titles in different countries.

CB - Worst snowboard or sporting experience?
TR - Breaking bones in MX. In snowboarding I haven't really had bad experiences except for some people and shitty hotels.

CB- Anyone you want to thank?
TR- All people who helped me and supported my talent and drive, the list would
be too long.

CB - Lay some set up wisdom on us:
TR - Motivation is not a matter of will-power, it is a matter of want-power.
Since people learn the most by imitation, they need models rather than
critics.

Thedo, thanks man! You have been such a positive influence on riders in Europe and North America, heck, world wide, I am proud to call you a friend and mentor. See you on the hill!

Judge in Las Vegas nullifies city law putting limits on lap dances

Finally some justice in this world.

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas law prohibiting strippers from fondling customers during lap dances is unconstitutionally vague, a judge ruled.

District Court Judge Sally Loehrer affirmed a lower court ruling that as many as five misdemeanor criminal cases filed against Las Vegas strippers should be dismissed.
Friday's ruling affects only dancers within city limits. The Clark County Commission in 2002 limited touching between strippers and patrons during private lap dances, specifically barring strippers from touching or sitting on the customer's genital area.

But the municipal code was not as specific, saying only that strippers and their patrons should not "fondle" or "caress" each other.

City attorneys told Loehrer touching is illegal when dancers engage in contact aimed at sexually arousing the customer. But defense lawyer James Colin argued the lack of specifics makes it impossible to enforce the law.

"It's too confusing," Colin said. "No one knows."

Under Loehrer's ruling, no dancer in the city can be arrested for violating the municipal code. The city is considering an appeal.

Interview Time

This is from my boy - Justin Reiter - World Cup Snowboarder, great man and fun partner in crime former Team Summit Rider, Good Friend. This kid is serious.

CB - When did you begin snowboarding and why?

JR - I started snowboarding long before I'd like to admit. I don't remember exactly how old I was but I am going to say I was around 8 years old. My Mom and Step dad got me a Burton Performer Elite for Christmas. It was bigger than me.

CB - Who Influenced you and how?

JR - I saw my first Snowboarder tearing it up at Copper and I instantly wanted to do it. Once I got my board I was hooked. I grew up looking up to Jacoby, Brushie, and Kelly. Once I decided to pursue snowboarding on a professional level I started watching Jasey Jay, and Fawcett. I recently became intrigued by Sigi Grabner's story and personality.

CB - Other Sports?

JR - I grew up skating, playing soccer, and Mtn. biking mostly. My Mom made sure I was always doing something. Basketball, baseball, swimming, tennis, golf, and many other sports occupied my time. Now I focus on Snowboarding, Golf, and Surfing. I suck at all but one.

CB - Any wrecks?

JR - Wrecks. I am very thankful to never have had to deal with a major injury. I have smashed fingers into gates, smacked my head a few times (so I'm told), broken wrists, and stress fractured my tibia. All have hurt but none have set me back.

CB - Any Checks?

JR - Checks! Also no big checks as of yet. I remember my first Pro win was an AST at Big Bear in Cali. I defeated Ben Fairchild to make a solid $1,000.00. I was so stoked, it was an amazing feeling. My team dog piled me in the finish; I couldn't have done it without them, or anyone else.

CB - What are your strongest qualities as a racer?

JR - My quickness is a big factor in my athleticism. I have an extremely high VO2 capacity, and above average endurance. Mentally it has been a struggle but I feel that the struggle is now what gives me my strength and confidence in my mental abilities. I am now able to quiet the mind and perform, accepting all elements of a competition and adapting to them rather than deny them.

CB - What are your weakest qualities as a racer?

JR - I feel that I have no permanent weakness. I believe that I can change and or adapt to anything. All I need is time. Perhaps that is my biggest strength. Often I doubt myself, abilities, and future but, I am working on changing that.

CB - What are your current and future goals in racing?

JR - Currently I am striving to earn another quota spot on the World Cup tour for the US. I want to get more Devo riders on the tour. I feel that by riding well I will accomplish this and at the same time make a name for myself on the tour.

CB - Goals in life?

JR - Future goals include one word, Olympiad. Outside of racing I am striving to be a more compassionate accepting person who can truly enjoy the journey of life no matter the circumstances. I dream of bringing snowboard racing to the main stream. I want to take what I have learned from snowboarding into my life and express it to others so they too can have the ability to strive to reach their potential.

CB - Greatest achievements?

JR - Living my dream. It's not easy and not always fun but I can't believe I am doing it.

CB - Worst snowboard or sporting experience?

JR - No such thing, enjoy everything. There have been moments of absolute darkness but they always pass and make the sky seem bluer the next time around.

CB - Anyone you want to thank? JR- I want to thank everyone that has ever supported me, believed in me, and even knocked me. You have all given me the strength and ability to pursue my dreams and live my life to the fullest. To my biggest fan, it is because of you.Namaste.

CB -Lay some set up wisdom on us:

JR -Anyone can be a champion. I know this and I am not yet a champion. I know this because I believe it. Pursue your passions now! Don't wait until the right moment, it may pass you by. Chose to be a champion, and work your ass off for it!

Thanks Justin, man, race fast and live well !

Wrecked by a willy bag

So I am course, trying to tie willy bags to a series of trees that a kid just went into - sore knee for the dude there.

So we hold the race and get some bags down to the finish area, Gene BH2O ski's up and the bags whiplash around and take me the fu()&( out, feet over head crash down on head and shoulders up side down, neck is now fully worked, seems like a mild concussion, left shoulder in some good pain and some serious laughter directed at me from the peanut gallery of parents and hangers on. God my body hurts something awful, freaking serious headache, eyes even hurt. I am looking forward to morning to see how truly f'd up my body feels, soo hungry, but food is like kinda nasty right now.

Tracer - has Glaucoma

Bad night visions, a astigmatism, and is turning 40 in 20 days. Thanks for the call man, that was seriously funny! No not your issues, but your way of explaining it, not really profane, but nice way to turn a phrase(s).

Buried

Man, losing a day to a holiday sucks, then add in the cash factor losing another day with endless meetings the other days and now - ta da it is Thursday -what- I got nothing done, now the heat is on and throw it into panic mode. Thought I would come up for some air and see what is happening in world, not much so far, Bush is getting "sworn" in, it is sunny out, warm also, uhh that's about it. Any news from anyone? Email me tell me what is up in the world.

New 8 week plan

The old plan was not working, so in the period to get back into form, we came up with a new plan, that relies less on building huge base miles bit working intervals to build endurance.

Now bugger off if you have a different plan, shit if everyone had the same plan excepting some genetics and cancer we'd all be Lance Armstrong. And who really wants that? Sheryl Crow? We could do way better. Right Pic? I know Jeremy could, Brian? Well not to sure about that, as he is semi gay and living in a male commune down on Bolivia. Ocky is married and happy, Brad is a pimp which is funny since he ain't makin no cash offin his ho's. The Duke is hooked up, with a woman that will crush his ass on the bike, Adam is just 17 and is scared of the womens, he loves his MAVERICK and RIDLEY so much that tappin some power is out of the question. Wow this getting long winded and all, but it had to be said.
