Both airports are underwater, the Quarter is safe, the 10 is underwater, Metreaire is underwater. Advising that if you live there not to come back for a while, power is off and on for the next 4-6 weeks. Oil Tanker is leaking oil, the twin span is GONE, I loved driving over that bridge.

Gulfport, Bay St Louis in Mississippi look like they took a great hit, like ground zero.

No news on my parents home in Gulf Shores that was on the eastern leading edge of the storm and it is said to be suffering from high water and all that. This is so seriously depressing.

The landscape has been irrevocaibly (bad spelling there) changed. Sounds like the city is cut off from the east and north. And northwest. In the morning the pictures will tell all.

I am watching the live feed from Mobile and this man with his kids told of how his home was split open and destroyed and how he had to let go of his wife's hand and she was swept away. The reporter dang near cracked, the kids looked shocked and the man was left to wonder around with his two sons, muttering I have nothing.

That was a devastating thing to see and hear, I am going to stop watching this as it is way too much. I have a hard time dealing with things like this after seeing so many car crashes right in front of me and the plane crash a block and half from my old home. PTSD.

Guess we'll never really know will we? So when I say secret training, now you know. Stealth attacks on empty roads with many lights in the cool of the night (thanks Whitesnake). You sleep and I get strong.

From Las to Ord has been sitting in the sun for nearly an hour. Spinning only one engine. Checked on NOTAMS and there seems a ground stop going into that area. Funny

There are a group of Russian people staying here. I went to get a sprite discovered that the machine does not like dollars. Got change and the russian dude from dinner in Mesquite was there - more on that later - trying to stuff a buck in there and cursing and russian - I know russian curse words - so I let him have at it, banging, cursing, looking pissed. Just as he was about to give up I fronted him the change and he walked with a coke and I walked with a smile.
