Rebagliati sued by ex-girlfriend
VANCOUVER - The former girlfriend of snowboarder Ross Rebagliati is suing the Olympic gold medallist, claiming she supported him during the year-and-a half they lived together in Whistler.
Jennifer Suzanne Friesen claims she provided financial assistance as Rebagliati tried to build a career from his 1998 snowboarding win at the Nagano Winter Games.
In her statement of claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court, Friesen says she paid for motorcycles, mountain bikes, surf and snowboard gear, meals and entertainment, personal training and even teeth-whitening for Rebagliati.
She says she cashed in tens of thousands of dollars in RRSP's to help him service his debts.
